The Building Safety Act 2022 created the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) in England. The new regulator is part of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
The Act requires BSR to set up a Statutory Residents' Panel (the panel) to ensure residents are placed at the heart of the new regulatory regime.
We are seeking applications now from current residents of high-rise buildings (HRBs) who would like to be considered for a position on the panel.
The panel will be a small group of about 20 people who are a broad mix of HRB residents from different locations and housing types, including social housing, private rent, and leasehold owners. As well as a mix of residents, it will be supported by representatives from relevant organisations.
We will make sure that members represent people with different experiences. If you are under 30-years-old, have a disability, or are a local authority resident, we are particularly keen to hear from you. We recognise the varied experiences of residents living in HRBs and we want to ensure all voices are heard.
The panel needs members who are engaged and can:

You will be asked to provide a brief statement (no more than 250 words) on why you want to be a member of the panel. You will also be asked to provide some information about yourself.
We will take great care when storing and handling your personal data, and we will not use it without your permission.
