Building inspector Competence Framework (BICoF) consultation

This consultation closed on 31 October 2022. Feedback received through the consultation has been considered and used to shape and refine our proposals.
We intend to publish the draft Building inspector competence framework (BICoF) in April 2023. The BICoF is expected to come into force April 2024.

About this consultation
Here you will find information about the Building Inspector Competence Framework (BICoF) from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) as well as the consultation we are running on the framework.
The BICoF applies to all who wish to register with the BSR as a Building Inspector, whether they work in the private or public sector.
We want to know your views on our proposals. We will use your views to shape and refine the BICoF.
You will need to read the profiles for the registration classes and the detailed competencies described in the document to take part.
We intend to publish the final BICoF in April 2023.
